Wanaparthy is located in Mahaboobnagar district. New Wanaparthy district will be carved out from the existing Mahaboobnagar and the area of the new district will be 4426 sq.kms and population will be around 11,36,983.
Wanaparthy district will have following mandals, alampur, Ija, Itikyala, Manavapadu, Vaddepalli, Kothakota, Dharood – I, Gadwal, Gattu, Maldakal, Panagal, Atmakur, Ghanpur, Gopalpet, Pebberu, Peddamandadi, Wanaparthy.
