Kukatpally Assembly Constituency Profile – Latest Election Updates

Kukatpally is an Assembly Constituency in Hyderabad City of Telangana State. This constituency is mostly populated by the people from Coastal Andhra areas. The constituency fall under Malkajgiri Lok Sabha Constituency. It is under the purview of Ranga Reddy district. Kukatpally segment was created in 2009 through delimitation of constituencies.

2009 and 2014 Elections:

Jaya Prakash Narayan
Jaya Prakash Narayan of Lok Satta Party was the first MLA of Kukatpally Assembly Constituency.

It was the first election to Kukatpally assembly constituency after it was carved out from Khairatabad Assembly constituency. Former IAS officer and Lok Satta Party chief, N Jaya Prakash Narayan was the first MLA of this constituency. He also contested in 2014 elections but defeated by TDP candidates, Madhavaram Krishna Rao. Krishna Rao later joined in TRS.

2018 / 2019 Election Scenario:

TRS has declared its candidate from Kukatpally Assembly constituency. Telangana Assembly was dissolved and the state is going for polls earlier to the scheduled term. Present MLA, Krishna Rao is contesting from TRS Party. Congress, TDP and BJP and Lok Satta Parties have to announce their candidates.

TDP is likely to field candidate for Kukatpally constituency as part of its election understanding with Congress. Jaya Prakash Narayan of Lok Satta Party may also contest again from Kukatpally constituency.
