Aadhaar based Cash Transfer Scheme in Rajasthan

The Government of Rajasthan is going to create a record by becoming the first state to implement Cash Transfer Scheme (CTS) based on Aadhaar Cards. The Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh will be launching the scheme on 20th October 2012 in Dudu, Rajasthan.

The Cash Transfer Scheme will be implemented enabling the government to transfer the cash directly to beneficiaries under social schemes such as MNREGA and Pension.

The Cash Transfer Scheme is aimed at checking malpractices such as corruption pilferage in the social welfate programmes. The PM will launch the scheme on the second anniversary of Aadhaar project, implemented by UIDAI.

The government is planning to implement Aadhaar enabled service delivery schemes in 51 districts across the country. The Aadhaar Cards will be used for making pension payments, MNREG payments, PDS distribution, scholarship payments etc.
