The India Post is proposed to launch aadhaar services in Telangana Circle with effect from October 2017. The post offices will start receiving requests for corrections in Aadhaar data to enable people to update Aadhaar card information. The India Post is making arrangements to equip with separate counters for Aadhaar updation.
The postal department will initially provide facility to update Aadhaar cards at the following locations in Telangana State:
1) General Post Office (GPO), Abids
2) Head post offices at Secunderabad, Trimulgherry, and Khairatabad.
3) Medak, Vikarabad, Sangareddy and Siddipet post offices
The trial work is under progress at these locations. People can update proof of identity, address, date of birth and relationship through these post offices.
Aadhaar card holders can visit the mentioned head post offices in the city with valid documents. The updating process will be completed within 10 minutes after submission for the same.
The Postal Department will collect Rs. 25 as fee for each updation / correction. After the completion of the updating process, final copy will be shown to the card – holder for verification and will be sent for printing.
