In a great relief to the citizens of the country, the Supreme Court of India has extended the deadline to link Aadhaar number with various services till 31st March 2018. The date has been extended to services such as Aadhaar linking with SIM cards, PAN cards, e-KYC, etc.
The date for linking Aadhaar number with existing accounts and other services like government benefits, subsidies, insurance policies, post office accounts and various other schemes has been extended to March 31.
The court had insisted on verification of Aadhaar numbers at the time of issue of SIM cards to mobile users instead of linking mobile SIM cards with Aadhaar numbers. The court has accepted the deadline of 31st March 2018 to link PAN cards and Aadhaar.
The public have to link Aadhaar number with other services like bank accounts, post office accounts, pension schemes, savings schemes, mutual fund investments and more than 100 other services.
