The Election Commission of India has initiated the de-duplication of Electors database in India. As part of the pilot project the Aashaar and EPIC seeding process in under progress in several districts in India. The duplicate voters will be deleted from the list by seeding the AADHAAR against the EPIC card holders. Along with duplication, the process also aimed at weeding out the fraudulent (Bogus, Ineligible and shifted) EPIC Card holders from the existing Electors database in India.
Pilot Study: The Election department of India has initially identified 15 polling centers of GHMC (Hyderabad, Telangana) area as a pilot run and has completed the Electors verification. The officials have also completed EPIC Voter ID – AADHAAR link / seeding successfully.
The process is now being implemented in GHMC Area covering 24 Assembly constituencies and also in Nizamabad District. The same will be replicated in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States soon.
Though there are various approaches for Aadhaar – EPIC Voter ID seeding, online method is much easier and can be done through EPIC AADHAAR Seeding portal with OTP. Here is the process:
Self Seeding Procedure:
1) Open http://164.100.132.184/epic/SelfSeeding.jsp
2) Enter EPIC ID
3) Enter Aadhaar UID Number
4) Enter Mobile Number
You will receive a OTP (one time password) after clicking on ‘Generate One Time Password’ and you need to enter it and then submit the data. The EPIC – Aadhaar Seeding process is over with this. You may also get a confirmation message.
Portal Seeding Procedure:
This can be done through online using EPIC AADHAAR Seeding Portal at http://164.100.132.184/epic/index.jsp . You need to log on the website using user name and password. In this process, the portal will validate the date before seeding Aadhaar – EPIC numbers.
