Aadhaar – What to be Linked and What not to be Linked as per Supreme Court

aadhaar pan link
Linking PAN and Aadhaar is a must to file IT returns. The IT Dept made the process hassle free.

In a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court of India has clarified that the
Aadhaar is not mandatory for several services in the country. The Supreme Court
has clearly mentioned the services to be linked with Aadhaar and ther services that
does not require Aadhaar validation. Here is the list:

Services need Aadhaar linking:

1) PAN must be linked with Aadhaar
2) Aadhaar is compulsory requirement for filing Income Tax returns.
3) Aadhaar must be provided for availing facilities of welfare schemes and government subsidies.

Services not require Aadhaar linking:

1) Bank account do not require Aadhaar linking.
2) Telecom service providers should not ask for Aadhaar linking to issue mobile
connection.
3) Aadhaar is not mandatory for exam conducted by CBSE, NEET, and UGC.
4) Aadhaar is not compulsory for admissions in schools.
5) Children can not be denied benefits of any schemes on the grounds of not
being able to bring Aadhaar.

But in fact, Aadhaar has almost got penetrated in all walks of life of the citizens in
the country. It is too late by the Supreme Court. Crores of mobile connections
and bank accounts are already linked with Aadhaar and the information is in public
domain despite concerns of privacy of data.
