With linking of the Aadhaar and LPG connections, the enrollment process in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts is on fast track. Still there are hundreds of households who did not get Aadhaar. The authorities in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts are contemplating to extend the deadline by a few more weeks.
Earlier it was announced that March 15 is the deadline for linking the Aadhaar card with the subsidized LPG connections. Customers who submit Aadhaar numbers only can avail the subsidy on Gas cylinder. Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Anantapur, Chittoor, and East Godavari districts from the state of Andhra Pradesh were selected for the pilot project. If you have already registered but did not get the card, you can download Aadhar card from the website.
As per the statistics of Oil marketing companies such as Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Indian Oil Corporation only 28 percent of the consumers in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts have submitted their Aadhaar cards till the date. This number is 40 percent in the other three districts, Anantapur, Chittoor and East Godavari. If you have registered long back and waiting for the Card, check the status of Aadhar Card online.
There is no option for the Government than extending the deadline beyond 15th March 2013. Wardha (Maharashtra), Mysore (Karnataka) and Puducherry are also implementing this pilot project along with AP.
