The Government of Andhra Pradesh has named the new capital city as Amaravati. The cabinet of AP has approved the name Amaravati unanimously and the Chief Minister of the state N. Chandrababu Naidu has informed that the first phase of the capital city construction will be completed within four years. Amaravati has huge historical, spiritual and mythological significance.
AP Capital City Master Plan Phase – I
The AP Government has accepted the Capital City Draft Master Plan given by the Singapore team a day back and named the capital Amaravati immediately. The Singapore team will provide complete capital city master plan details before May 15, 2015. The capital city construction will start from June 2015.
The capital region, as suggested by the Singapore and accepted by AP Government will be connected to satellite towns. Machilipatnam town, which is prime port area will be developed into a logistic hub.
The Government has also proposed a 210-km outer ring road which connects Vijayawada and Guntur. Other main infrastructure projects include Regional expressways, bridges across river Krishna, International airport at Gannavaram, Airport at Mangalagiri, etc. The AP Government is determined to make Amaravati a world class capital city.
