The Government of Andhra Pradesh has set up special counters cum helpline centers to receive complaints on crop and gold loan waiver scheme (Runa Maafee Scheme). The counters will start functioning from 27th April and will receive complaints related to the crop and gold loan waiver scheme till 15th May 2015.
According to the new initiative, there will be helpline counters at all the district headquarters in Andhra Pradesh. Two senior level officers will be entrusted with taking the complaints from the farmers and beneficiaries. The decision has been taken to make it convenient to the farmers as they are coming to Hyderabad for the submission of complaints on Runa Maafee scheme.
It is estimated that about 80000 complaints have been received by the officials till the date. The scheme has been implemented in CRDA 29 villages and all the loans of the farmers of those villages have been waived off by the Government of AP.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced that 50 percent of gold loans and 92 percent of crop loans were identified eligible for the Loan Waiver scheme (Runa Maafee schme). The gold loans taken for non agriculture needs by submitting zerox copies at Banks have not been considered for loan waiver scheme.
