Everything set for the counting of votes on 6th March 2012. Assembly Election results of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Manipur, Goa and Uttarakhand will be announced by Election Commission of India on 5th March. The live telecast and live updates of UP and other elections results will be available on the news channels such as CNN – IBN, NDTV 24 x 7, Aajtak, NDTV India, ZEE News, Times NOW, Headlines Today, Star News and other channels. The newspaper sites and web portals also update results of 5 states Assembly elections. The losers and winners will be out soon. As per most of the exit polls, Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for the change of guard. SP might emerge as the single largest party to claim stake for the formation of new Government in Uttar Pradesh.
Most of the exit polls predicted SP’s rise in UP politics. The ruling BSP, BJP and Congress will trail behind the SP. According to STAR News and AC Nielson exit poll, SP will get 183 seats followed by BSP with 83 seats. BJP will secure 71 and Congress will satisfy with 51 while its ally RLD will get 11 seats. Another channel, Headlines Today predicted that SP will get 195 – 210 seats and BSP will sit in the opposition with 88 – 98 seats.
Exit Polls also guessed close fight in Punjab between SAD of Badal – BJP combine and the Congress Party. But SAD is likely to emerge as a winner with slight lead. Uttarakhand and Manipur will go for the Congress rule. In Goa, BJP will form the Government with about 28 seats and the Congress will secure 12 seats. All these are only predictions of media. There are instances where exit polls were turned down by voters on the counting day with so many surprises. Here are exit poll predictions:
