BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), a state owned mobile and telecommunications company has rolled out all new prepaid card linked mobile wallet. The scheme allows customers to transfer cash, pay for services as well as withdraw cash of up to Rs 1 lakh.
The wallet service, called as Speed Pay, allows the BSNL customers to load money to the mobile account even if he / she does not have a bank account. The money loaded in the BSNL wallet can be transferred to any account and even withdrawn at branches or at BSNL outlets.
There is another interesting option. You can load money into a mobile wallet from a bank account. BSNL mobile network users / customers who do not have any bank account can also load money at any BSNL retail outlet. The customers can request the retailer to recharge their mobile wallet account and pay for various services from the account.
Finally, it is not free! The BSNL charge for some value added services. There will be one percent transaction charge / fee if money from the BSNL wallet is transferred to other bank accounts or a there is cash withdrawal through the wallet. For more details, see www.bsnl.co.in
