Indian National Congress has released its much awaited election manifesto for Lok Sabha polls 2019. Congress has promised several welfare schemes to the farmers, poor people and unemployed youth of the country. Following are highlights cum important points of Congress manifesto for Lok Sabha elections 2019.
NYAY Scheme:
Congress Party has promised Rs.72000 per year for each poor family in the country. The party has coined a slogan Garibi pe waar, 72000 for this scheme. The poorest 20 percent households in the country will get benefits under this scheme.
4 Lakh Jobs by 2020:
Congress has promised to fill 4 lakh central government vacancies before March 2020. It will also pursuage state governments to fill 20 lakh vacancies it voted to power.
10 Lakh Seva Mitras:
10 lakh new seva mitra positions will be created across the country. They will be positioned in every gram panchayat and urban local bodies.
Kisan Budget every year:
Congress party has promised Kisan Budget every year. National Commission on Agricultural Development and Planning will be set up to look into the issues of farmers.
Right to Healthcare Act:
A new law for Right to Healthcare will be enacted for providing free diagnostics, out-patient care, free medicines and hospitalisation.
Special Status to AP:
In a significant move, Congress party has promised special category status to Andhra Pradesh and also extends the same to North East states.
33 percent of seats for women:
33 percent reservations will be provided to women candidates in Lok Sabha and the State Legislative Assemblies. 33 percent vacancies in all central government recruitments will be reserved for women.
