Gujarat has become one of the most corona virus affected states in India after Maharashtra and New Delhi. It has reported over 2,000 cases across the state as on 22nd April, 2020. It has recorded more than 200 cases and 12 deaths in 24 hours as stated by the Health Ministry and Family Welfare. Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Bhavnagar, Rajkot, and Patan have been declared hotspots of Corona. Extended restrictions on movement of public will be in force in hotspot areas. The Gujarat Government has ensured round the clock helpline numbers and test labs / hospitals.

The Government of Gujarat has also allowed private hospitals like HCG, Sterling Hospital and Narayana Multispecialty Hospital for the treatment of Corona patients.
Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani has called for 2,000 isolation beds in cases of emergency. The state has also announced several regions as hot spots including Ahmedabad, Surat and Rajkot. Government has also announced 31 private hospitals as dedicated Covid 19 hospitals.
