Portblair and Nicobar remain cause of concern in Andaman and Nicobar islands as Central Government declares them as corona hotspots in the Union Territory. The increase in coronavirus positive cases in Andaman and Nicobar Islands is causing panic within the Union Territory. Its cases rose to 18 on 20th April and hasn’t recorded any deaths so far. Out of the total patients, 10 persons have recovered and are in home isolation. Corona Testing Labs in Andaman and Nicobar:
People who have symptoms for coronavirus like soar throat, cough, fever and difficulty in breathing can contact the Regional Medical Research Centre located in Port Blair. Officials said that isolation facilities are being provided in Government guest houses and private hotels for emergency cases.
Corona Hotspots in Andaman and Nicobar Islands:
At present, the districts of Port Blair and Nicobar have been the hotspots are now declared as the orange zones because of the rapid recoveries and medical facilities. The Government has been following the method of pool testing to identify the virus infections. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands is the first Union Territory in India to follow pool testing to track corona cases.
