In a major move to ease the process of getting PAN card, Government of India has proposed e-PAN system. Permanent Account Number (PAN) is an important identity for those filing income tax returns.
e-PAN with Aadhaar verification:
In the latest move by the Government, ePAN will be issued to within 10 minutes after the submission of application. The new exercise will be completed soon and ePAN system will come into force after that.
Separate ePAN mechanism:
Separate mechanism and department will be set up to issue ePAN to the applicants. The new move will facilitate the people to secure PAN without any difficulties and also increase the IT returns bringing transparency in businesses.
Application Procedure:
People need to apply online only through Income Tax department website for ePAN card. The application will be processed by the IT department automatically and verified with Aadhaar number of the applicant. ePAN will be generated within minutes if the details are matched online.
