What is the issue in AP?

Election Commission has received lakhs of Form 7 applications across the state of AP. Opposition party, YSRCP has complained to the Election Commission and the Governor on alleged manipulation of voters list in AP and deletion of their sympathizers from the list.

Mutual allegations:

On the other hand, TDP has complained to AP police and election commission claiming that the opposition YSRCP in congruence with BJP and TRS has filed fake form 7 applications to delete the votes of TDP sympathisers. Ironically, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has approved the filing of Form 7 on behalf of his party. This has led to the controversy.

Election Commission has informed that they have received lakhs of Form 7 applications. EC has also ascertained that they will not delete any voter from the list without proper inquiry and confirmation from the nodal officers.
