Gujarat is going for two phase Assembly polls in December 2012. The polling will be held on 13 and 17th December 2012. Gujarat has 182 Assembly segments. Following are details and dates for filing nominations, withdrawal of nominations, poll campaign, counting and election results.
1) First Phase Elections on 13th December 2012: For 87 seats
2) Second / Last Phase Elections on 17th December 2012: For 95 seats
3) Counting of Votes: 20 December 2012
Gujarat will have 44496 polling stations. The stats has 3.78 crore voters. The model code of conduct has already came into force from 3rd October 2012. About 1 lakh central and state forces will be deployed for Gujarat elections.
