The AP government has imposed more restrictions on the Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme. This assistance will be available only if the students’ attendance up to the electricity bill in their homes is as prescribed. Family household electricity consumption should be less than 300 units. Exceeding that will disqualify the scheme. Similarly attendance percentage is no longer considered serious. In fact, in the past, 75 per cent attendance was required to get money under Amma Vodi. In the wake of Covid it was largely ignored in the early days. An exception was made to that condition. But only those who have 75% attendance in this academic year will get Amma Vodi amount in the coming academic year. Also the names of the old districts should be changed in the Aadhaar card and the new districts should be registered. All those who want to benefit under Amma Vodi should go to the Aadhaar centers and change the name of the old district and update the name of the new district.

Of this, Rs 1,000 is being deducted from school nurses’ salaries and the remaining Rs 14,000 is being given. The government has announced that it will provide the scheme for five years. Payment under this scheme is due in January of each year. However, for the current academic year, it will be given in July, which is the beginning of the next academic year and not in January.
