Newly appointed Karnataka Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has formed new cabinet with 26 ministers in July 2011 . There were many surprises in the formation of the Government. The Bellary Brothers, G. Karunakara Reddy and G. Janardhana Reddy along with their associate B. Sriramulu have been excluded from the new cabinet on the grounds of the recommendation of their prosecution by Lokayukta report. The legislatures supporting the Reddy brothers are also did not find the berths in new cabinet. Following are the names of new cabinet and their portfolios.
This is the second Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Karnataka after it has taken over the power for the first time. Sadananda Gowda has taken care of balancing both factions of Yedyurappa and Jagadish Shettar in the cabinet formation. There are 12 members in the cabinet from Yeddyurappa’s faction, and 9 from Jagadish Shettar’s camp took oath of secrecy. Following are the new cabinet members of Karnataka Government:

K.S. Eshwarappa has been appointed as the President of Karnataka’s Bharatiay Janata Party wing. In a Cabinet expansion after four days of the formation of his Council of Ministers, Sadananda Gowda has inducted five more MLAs into his Cabinet. Four out of the of the five legislators who joined the Cabinet are new entrants to the party. They are:
22) Raju Gowda of Surpur Constituency who is also known as Narasimha Nayak
23) C.P. Yogeshwar (Channapatna)
24) Balachandra Jharkiholi (Arabhavi, Belgaum)
25) Anand Asnotikar (Karwar) and
26) R.Varthur Prakash who represents Kolar Constituency.
