Kodangal is the citadel of A. Revanth Reddy than any political party. He has strong hold on Kodangal constituency. The constituency is in Mahabubnagar district and now part of Vikarabad district after reorganisation of districts in Telangana State. Revanth Reddy has won the seat on TDP ticket in 2014 before joining Congress Party. He will be a strong contender for CM post of Telangana if Congress party win the Assembly elections in 2018.
2018 Elections:
Revanth Reddy will be contesting on the Congress party ticket this time from Kodangal. In 2014 elections, Revanth Reddy contested on TDP ticket and won the seat comfortably with 14614 votes majority. He joined in the Congress party and now the executive president of the party in Telangana.

In 2014 elections, Revanth Reddy secured 39.06 percent votes on the symbol of TDP, TRS has secured 28.5 percent votes while Congress was in third place with 26.25 percent votes. The victory of Revanth Reddy will be a cake walk now as Congress and TDP are joined to defeat TRS. Revanth Reddy defeated Gurunath Reddy of TRS in 2014 elections.

Revanth Reddy has been a vocal critic of KCR and TRS Government in Telangana. He has been in the news for his strong oratory skills. He has fans and followers across the parties for his anti KCR remarks and challenges to ruling party to defeat him in Kodangal Constituency.
