Land Re-Survey in Andhra Pradesh – YSR Housing Scheme Details

Government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to conduct of total land resurvey in the state. The new dispensation lead by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has come out with a proposal to overhaul revenue system. Land resurvey is aimed at reducing land disputes and enhancing trust on the revenue policies and implementation system.

Land Resurvey:

Officials of Government of AP have already submitted proposals with an amount of Rs.1688 crore for land resurvey through out the state. The proposals are as follows:

YSR Pension Kanuka for old age people
YSR Housing scheme will be implemented as promised in Paadayaatra of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy

Land Survey in three phases:

According to officials, land survey will be done in three phases. It will be completed in two and half years. The total land resurvey will be a first of its kind in the state of AP. Modern survey technologies will be used in the survey.

There will be a central control center and 75 remote stations to cover land survey of 3000 villages at a go. It is observed that the land is necessary as many records are misplaced or lost after 1980.

YSR House Sites Scheme:

AP Government has also decided to allocate house sites to all the eligible families by Ugadi festival. The officials are entrusted with identifying beneficiaries under YSR house sites scheme. This will be done by village volunteers.

It is estimated that about 26.75 lakh families, including 14.06 lakh in villages and 12.69 lakh in urban areas are eagerly waiting for house sites. Land for house sites is collected by officials at the district level.
