Leather Showroom Scheme in Andhra Pradesh – Eligibility and Guidelines

Andhra Pradesh Government has launched an innovative self employment scheme called Leather Showroom. The scheme is aimed at providing self employment for the education unemployed youth in the state. Following are details of the scheme like eligibility, capital required and other guidelines.

Eligibility for the scheme:

1) Should have qualified in Intermediate
2) Age should be above 21 years.
3) Should have a shop in the approximate area of 800 / 1000 / 1500 square yeards.

Government Assistance:

Government of AP will provide financial assistance to set up Leather Showroom by the youth formed in teams. The sum of assistance depends on the number of members in the team.

Three member team: Rs. 10 lakhs
Four member team: Rs.12 lakhs
Five member team: Rs.16 lakhs

The members need not pay any installments in the first six months after commencement of the showroom. The financial assistance will be disbursed without any intervention of banks. 70 percent concession will be provided from the Government.

400 Leather Showrooms

AP Government is aimed at setting up 400 leather showrooms in 77 cities across the state. The beneficiary has to arrange 30 percent of the capital and the Government will provide 70 percent financial support. Unemployed youth will also be provided with training in skill development.

Application Procedure:

Details of complete guidelines and application procedure for Leather Showroom scheme will be released soon by the Government. Usually the selections will be done at the district level by a selection committee.
