The election commission has released MPTC and ZPTC election schedule 2014. The polling will be held on 6th April and the counting of votes will take place on 8th April 2014. Following is the complete schedule of MPTC and ZPTC elections in 2014:
1) Issue of notification and commencement of filing of nominations: 17th March 2014
2) Last date for the filing of nominations: 20th March 2014
3) Scrutiny of nominations: 21st March 2014
4) Receipt of petitions on the rejected nominations: 22nd March
5) Resolution of appeals: 23rd March
6) Withdrawal of nominations: 24 March
7) Polling date: 6th April (7 AM to 5 PM)
8) Counting of votes: 8th April 2014
The elections have been scheduled after Supreme Court has directed the election commission of conduct the elections immediately. The Government has sent a report to the Court with the election schedule and the court is yet to respond on that report.
