Nalgonda district gave some solace to the Congress party in 2014 Assembly and General elections. Gutha Sukhender Reddy won from Nalgonda Lok Sabha segment while Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy and his wife Padmavathi Reddy and K. Janareddy won from their respective Assembly constituencies.
R.K. Ramavath of CPI won from Devarakonda constituency. He is the only winner for CPI in Telangana and Seemandhra. Relatively weak, TRS also managed to win Suryapet, Munugode, Bhongir, Nakrekal, Thungathurthy and Alair Constituencies.
