Government of Telangana has concentrated on new potential areas of development in the state. It is proposed to develop new IT parks in various parts of outskirts of Hyderabad. After West Hyderabad, Telangana Government has identified ORR growth corridors near Gandimaisamma and Kondlakoya of Hyderabad as the potential spot for IT sector growth. It has decided to develop three new IT parks in these areas.
1) Dundigal: TS Government is proposed to develop a IT park in more than 400 acres near Dundigal / Gagillapur areas. It has identified large chunks of Government lands near Dundigal.
2) Bowrampet: This is another area for proposed IT park in 140 acres. The lands are already identified by the officials.
3) Dommara Pochampally: Another IT park will be developed in about 30 acres in this area.
Previous experiences:
Telangana Government is also considering alternatives if the IT companies does not show interest to set up units in these areas. Government may allow and encourage medium and small enterprises with all incentives in such case.
Land Acquisition:
TS Government is likely to go for land pooling in these areas for the development activities. Authorities will release land pooling notifications soon for these areas. Infrastructure works will be initiated by HMDA after due process of transfer of land.
Though the Telangana Government has tried to promote IT in East Hyderabad (Pocharam, Ghatkesar) and Adibhatla, it did not yield good results due to lack of transport and other facilities. Now the focus has been shifted to Dundigal, Gagillapur, Gandimaisamma and Bowrampet areas.
