Basavaraju Sarayya is a three term MLA from Warangal East Assembly Constituency, Andhra Pradesh. Presently he is serving as Minister for B.C. Welfare in the cabinet of N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. He is representing the Congress Party. Saraiah belongs to washer-man community and has the distinction of being the only Cabinet Minister in South India from his community.
Basavaraju Saraiah is known as a staunch loyal of late Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy. He was also a supporter of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy before his induction into the cabinet by the Chief Minister, Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy. Following is the brief profile of Basavaraju Saraiah:
