Profile of Dadi Veerabhadra Rao – Anakapalle Constituency

Dadi Veerabhadra Rao is in news for his political flip-flops in the recent times. Dissatisfied with the rejection of renomination to AP Legislative Council by the party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Dadi resigned from the party. He served as leader of opposition in AP Legislative Council. His term was ended on 4th May 2013 on which date he quit TDP and announced loyalty to YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

Dadi Veerabhadra Rao is a senior politician of the TDP. He elected to AP Assembly four times during 1985, 1989, 1994 and 1999 from Anakapalli Assembly Constituency. His son Ratnakar also a politician and served as District Chief of TDP before quitting the party along with Veerabhadra Rao.

Ironically, Dadi Veera Bhadrarao pacified another dissident in TDP, Chintakayala Ayyanapatrudu and convinced him not to leave the TDP. After a few months, Dadi Veerabhadrarao himself tendered resignation on the grounds of Chandrabadu’s attitude.

Dadi Veerabhadra Rao lost the elections in 2004 and 2009 to Konathala Ramakrishna and Ganta Srinivasa Rao respectively. Konathala seems to be dissatisfied with the entry of Dadi into YSRCP.
