Mettu Govinda Reddy is a TDP leader from Rayadurgam Constituency of Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh. He was elected to AP Assembly for the first term in 2004 elections. Presently he is serving as MLC of the TDP. The TDP is fielding Deepak Reddy, son in law of JC Prabhakar Reddy in the by elections to be held on 12th June 2012.
The incumbent MLA of Rayadurgam, Kapu Ramachandra Reddy was declared as disqualified for the anti party activities and the by elections were scheduled along with other 18 Assembly Constituencies. Though he is not contesting in the by elections, Mettu Govinda Reddy is going to play crucial role in the winning chances of TDP candidate in the Constituency.
