Five Time MLA from Proddatur Constituency of Kadapa district, Nandyala Varadarajulu Reddy was defeated by TDP’s Mallela Linga Reddy in 2009 Assembly elections. Linga Reddy is the only TDP candidate who secured victory in Kadapa district in 2009 Assembly elections. The district has 10 Assembly Constituencies out of which 9 segments were won by the Congress. Nandyala Varada Rajulu Reddy belongs to General Category. His father’s name is N. Varada Reddy. His permanent address is 2/101, Radhanagar, Kamanur, Proddutur Mandal, Kadapa District. He was born on 22nd November, 1942 at Bellary. His education qualifications are not known. He is in the profession of agriculture apart from politics. Varadarajulu Reddy won his first election in 1985 on the TDP ticket and continued in the Congress Party from 1989 elections.

Varada Rajulu Reddy was elected to AP Assembly 5 Terms from Prodatur Assembly Constituency. He served as a Village Munsiff and later contested to Assembly on the Congress ticket. Varadarajulu Reddy married to Smt. N. Obulamma and they have a son and two daughters. Reading, shooting and sports are his hobbies. Varada Rajulu has been with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for some days and later became an MLC of the Congress Party. He parted ways with YS Jagan after he was denied MLC ticket by the later. YS Jagan favoured Adinarayana Reddy over Varada Rajulu Reddy in 2011 MLC elections. Varada Rajulu Reddy is likely to be fielded by the Congress party in 2014 Assembly elections.
