Satrucharla Vijaya Ramaraju is representing Pathapatnam (ST) Assembly Constituency of Srikakulam District in Andhra Pradesh. He represented Parvathipuram Assembly and Parliamentary Constituency of Vizianagaram district for a long time. Satrucharla has been in news for his status as Scheduled Tribe (ST). He served thrice as an MP from Parvathipuram Lok Sabha Constituency on the ticket of Telugu Desam Party. Later Satrucharla Vijaya Ramaraju joined in the Congress Party and contested to AP Assembly.
Satrucharla was first elected to AP Assembly during 1978-79 on the ticket of Janata Party. Later he joined in Congress, Anna Telugu Desam, Telugu Desam and the Congress Party. served as Minister for Transport and also as Minister for Forests and Environment during YS Rajasekhar Reddy period. He has been continued with Forests portfolio in the cabinets of K. Rosaiah and N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. He is known as a loyal of late YSR Reddy.
