Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy is a senior politician of CPI from Andhra Pradesh. He is recently elected as a General Secretary of CPI. He served twice as an MP from Nalgonda Parliamentary Constituency of Andhra Pradesh. He was first elected to Lok sabha in 1998 and again won the seat in 2004 elections. Suravaram’s father is S. Venketrami Reddy. He was born on 25-03-1942 at Kondravpally of Mahboob Nagar district in Andhra Pradesh. He was married to Dr. BV Vijaya Lakshmi on 19 February 1974 and they have two sons. Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy studied B.A., LL.B. and educated at Osmania College, Kurnool and Osmania University Law College, Hyderabad. Sudhakar Reddy has served as secretary of CPI of Andhra Pradesh unit for a long time. He was first elected to Lok Sabha in 1998 from Nalgonda Constituency. He re-elected from Nalgonda in 2004 elections. He served as member of various Committees on Human Resource Development, Ministry of Finance, Rural Development, Information and Broadcasting, Joint Parliamentary Committee on Wakf and also as a Chairman of Standing Committee on Labour.
