The election commission of India has announced Rajya Sabha elections schedule 2014. The term of T. Subbarami Reddy, Nandi Yellaiah, M.A. Khan, T. Ratnabai and KVP Ramachandra Rao will be expiring in April 2014. ALong with these, the seat vacated by Nandamuri Harikrishna also will be filled through this election.
Rajya Sabha elections in AP are going to be interesting as Congress and TDP will get 3 and 2 seats respectively according to their strength in Assembly. Another seat is going to become a contentious issue among the parties.

Filing of nominations: 28 January
Polling: 7 February
Counting of votes: 7 February
Aspirants from the Congress party in AP: KVP Ramachandra Rao, M.A. Khan, Koppula Raju, Abid Rasool Khan.
Contestants from TDP: Kambhampati Ram Mohan Rao, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Narayana (Chanrman of Narayana Institutions), T.D. Janardhan Rao, Garikapati Mohan Rao, Motkupalli Narsimhulu.
