Rayalaseema districts and cities except Tirupati got raw deal from the development vision announced by the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu in the Assembly. Tirupati is the only town in the region which got information technology, education and several infrastructure related projects.
The IIT, IISER will be established in Tirupati. Other districts in the region Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur hardly get any significant project. The routine industrial zones, corridors and parks were announced at many places in these districts.
Most of the projects announced for Rayalaseema are centrally supported which may take more than five years to materialise. Manufacturing and mining industries need clearances at various central government departments and also require funding from government of India. Let us hope for much better prospects for the region in the coming years.
