The Government of Telangana has decided to give Rs. 1000 as pension for single woman in the state. The Chief Minister of the state, K. Chandra Sekhar Rao has announced the scheme in Assembly on 6th January 2017.
Single woman in the state will be extended Rs. 1000 pension per month from the coming financial year. Funds will be allocated for the scheme in the coming budget.
The Government of Telangana has estimated that two to three lakh women are likely to benefit from the new scheme. District Collectors will be instructed to register the names of eligible women.
This will be another welfare scheme for the poor women after rolling out similar schemes such as Kalyana Lakshmi and helping poor women and also pensions given to beedi workers.
