Now filing an application for information under RTI Act is much easier. The Government of India has enabled online facility to apply for information of various departments under Right to Information Act (RTI Act). The applicants can pay the fee also through internet banking. The general public and individuals can access the facility at www.rtionline.gov.in . Here are more details.
The RTI Online application facility is for Indian Citizen only. You need to register and login to the website avail the application online. The applications are at present accepted for the departments and ministries under Central Government only.

RTI fee can be paid through SBI and its associate banks using ATM cum Debit Card. BPL applicants need not pay the fee. You will be issued a unique registration number after submitting the application online. This has to be used for the future reference. You may also opt for SMS alerts.
