The leading Public Sector Bank, State Bank of India (SBI) has launched an exclusive bank for Women customers in Andhra Pradesh. The branch named as ‘SBI – Vasundhara’ has started functioning in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad from 11th January 2012. The SBI has earlier launched similar exclusive branch for women customers in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The branch at Jubilee Hills is second of its kind in the country and first exclusive women bank in Andhra Pradesh. The SBI is also planning to start similar exclusive branches for youth with the name of ‘Yuva’ and ‘Crorepati’ branches for high profile customers. SBI – Yuva is likely to be started in February 2012.
The SBI has announced that the bank will cater the needs of family members of the women customers also. The premises has playing area for the children. The SBI is also planning to launch ‘Crorepati Branch’ in Visakhapatnam for Vizag HNIs (High Network Individuals) in February 2012. Another innovative branch of SBI is located at Vijayawada with the name of ‘SBI – Kohinoor’. The similar branch is also functioning in Banjara Hills on the name of ‘Kohinoor Banjara’. The Bank is yet to start ‘Yuva’ branch for youth in Hyderabad and other important locations such as Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
The HNI branch in Vizag is to be named as Kohinoor Visakha. The branch has already identified about 25 prospective crorepati customers in the growing Visakhapatnam. The Kohinoor Visakha branch will be started near RK Beach and the SBI has also formed a Kohinoor Club for exclusive customers of these brand of branches. They will meet on festive occasions and celebrate their status. The ‘Kohinoor’ branches function on the principle of `by invitation only’ concept.
