The Telangana congress leaders, who failed to turn the image of Congress party in the region despite of their Government at the center granting Telangana State are now trying to rope in non other then their ‘Amma’ Sonia Gandhi. “The fortunes of the Congress party in Telangana are in the hands of Sonia Gandhi”, opined a senior Telangana Congress leader.
But the fact is that the formation of State of Telangana is yet toe cross several critical stages. The people of Telangana also may not trust the Congress till the Bill is passed in Parliament and establishment of separate Government in Telangana.
Given history of the Congress party also suggests that the Congress may derail the entire process of Telangana if it feels that the Party did not get the political mileage it wanted through the bifurcation.
Can Sonia Gandhi tell the Telangana people at this juncture that the Congress party only gave the T state? The Telangana leaders strategy to arrange a rally in Hyderabad and public address by Sonia Gandhi may not change its fate unless Telangana bill is passed.
In view of the General Elections during early 2014 to A P Assembly and Lok Sabha, it is unlikely that A P bifurcation is possible. It is too risky to go ahead with bifurcation for all the major political parties national and regional in AP.
