Telangana MBC Development Corporation Schemes for Financial Assistance

The Government of Telangana is proposed to set up MBC Corporation for the development of Most Backward Classes in the state. The Government has promised to provide financial aid to people switching from traditional occupations to alternative sources of employment.

The Government will provide Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh financial assistance to BC families who want to switch their sources of employment. The assistance will be provided directly to the beneficiaries without linkages with banks.

The Government has already sanctioned Rs 1,000 crore fund to MBC Corporation to organise special programmes for the upliftment of MBCs.

The initiative is likely to benefit families from the hereditary professions like washermen, hair dressers, tailors, goldsmith, carpenter, potter, gollas and kurumas, nayi Brahmins, potters and Panchakarmas etc. It is estimated that every year about 60,000 to 70,000 families should be given financial assistance under the welfare schemes for MBCs.
