Telangana State Budget 2018 – Highlights, Schemes and Allocations

The 4th Budget of Telangana Government has been presented on 15th March 2018 by the finance minister of the state, Etela Rajender on the floor of the Assembly. Following are the highlights of Telangana Budget – 2018.

1) Total budget estimatio nfor the year 2018-19 of Telangana is of Rs 1,74,453 crore.

2) Revenue expenditure for the current financial year is estimated at Rs 1,25,464 crore.

3) Revenue of the state is expected to touch Rs 73,751 crore in the present financial year.

4) The Government has allocated Rs 12,000 crore for input subsidy scheme to farmers. Another Rs 500 crore has been allocated for crop insurance and Rs 167 crore funds for promoting micro irrigation.

5) A total of Rs 25,000 crore has been allocated for irrigation projects.

6) The State Government is proposed to bring new Panchayat Raj bill .

7) Rs. 1450 crores have been allocated for Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi schemes, aimed at financial assistance to poor brides.

8) Rs. 2600 crore has been allocated for the prestigious 2 BHK housing project of the Government.

9) The TS has allocated Rs 1790 crore for various schemes aimed at women and child welfare.

10) Rs 1000 crore have been allocated to MBC Corporation for the welfare of Other Backward Classes.

11) The Government has announced continuation of three acres land to landless Dalits scheme and Rs 1470 crore have been earmarked for this scheme.

12) Mission Bhagiratha scheme got Rs. 1800 crore funds. The scheme is aimed at providing piped water to all the households in Telangana state.
