The Telangana Government has launched the Two Bed Room House scheme for poor people in the state. The proposals have been prepared to start housing scheme, an election promise of the TRS Government. Initially the scheme will be launched in Warangal and Mahaboobnagar districts.
Warangal District: 3957 two bed room houses will come up in Warangal district as part of the housing scheme. Six slum areas were identified to construct these houses. In the initial stage, 1384 houses will be constructed in two colonies, SR Nagar and Ambedkar Nagar.
Mahaboobnagar district: 2300 houses were sanctioned in Old Palamuru, Patha Thota and Veeranna Peta slums.
Each two bed room house will have an area of 560 sq.ft. The estimated cost is Rs. 900 per each sq. ft. The estimation for each house is at Rs. 5.04 lakhs. The houses will have two bed rooms, two toilets, one hall and resembles IDH colony in Hyderabad. The detailed guidelines of the scheme will be released soon.
