Union Budget 2019 – Highlights and Allocations

Government of India has announced Union Budget 2019 with an eye on general elections. This is an interim budget by Piyush Goyal, in-charge minister of finance. Central Government has announced PM Kisan Yojana for the welfare farmers. Following are the highlights and allocations for important sectors in Union Budget 2019.

1) Average rate of inflation is down to 4.6 percent.
2) Current Account deficit is expected to be at 2.5 percent of GDP this fiscal year.
3) Rs.3 lakh crore was recivered in favour of banks and creditors.
4) 98 percent rural sanitation coverage achieved.
5) Economically weak given 10 percent reservations in education and jobs.

Pradhan Manthri Kisan Yojana (PMKY):

6) Rs.60000 crore being allocated for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA).

7) P M Kisan Yojana will be implemented to the farmers who have under 2 hectare land. They will be given Rs.6000 per year as input subsidy. About 12 crore farmers are expected to be benefited from this scheme.
8) Rs.19000 crore allocated for village roads (Gram Sadak Yojana)
9) 1.53 lakh houses have been constructed for the poor.
10) 22nd AIIMS will be established in Haryana state.

11) PM Kisan Yojana approved and farmers to get Rs 6000 per year as income support. This will be directly goes to the bank accounts of farmers.
12) Farmers who have under 2 hectare of agriculture land will get benefit under PMKY.
13) 2 percent interest subvention will be given for animal husbandry and fisheries farmers.
14) All the farmers those hit by natural calamity will get interest subvention of 5 percent.
15) Introduced Rashtriya Gokul Yojana with an allocation of Rs 750 crore,

16) EPFO membership has increased by 2 crore in 2 years.
17) Gratuity limit is increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
18) Unorganised sector workers will get an assured monthly pension of Rs.3000 per month.
