Visakha Metro Rail Routes and Lines – Steel Plant to Bhogapuram Airport

Visakhapatnam Metro Rail project is taking shape with the speedy preparation of project reports by Amaravathi Metro Rail Corporation Limited. Visakha Light Metro Rail will connect the Visakhapatnam Airport and Bhogapuram International Airport with a stretch of about 140 kms. Following is the routemap of Visakhapatnam Light Metro project.

6 Corridors Line:

There will be 6 corridors in Vizag Light Metro line. These include the following:

1. Steel Plant to NAD junction
2. NAD junction to Pendurthi
3. NAD Junction to Law College
4. Old Post Office to Rishikonda
5. Rishikonda to Bhimili Beach
6. Anandapuram Junction to Bhogapuram Airport.

First Phase of Visakha Metro:

In the phase 1 of Visakha light metro project, following lines / junctions will be taken up by Amaravathi Metro Rail Corporation. These are as follows:

1) Steel Plant – Kommadi junction
2) Gurudwara – Old Post Office junction
3) Tatichetlapalem – RK Beach
4) Kommadi – Anandapuram junction
5) Law College – Marikivalasa
6) Anandapuram Junction – Bhogapuram Airport

2nd Phase Metro:

Kommadi – Anandapuram junction and Anandapuram – Bhogapuram Airport junction will be taken up in the second phase of the project. Remaining line will be completed in first phase of metro project.
