Yemmiganur is an Assembly Constituency in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The constituency is going for by elections on 12th June 2012. Chenna Kesava Reddy, Rudra Goud and BV Mohan Reddy are contesting from YSR Congress, Congress and Telugu Desam parties respectively.
K. Chenna Kesava Reddy won from the constituency in 2004 and 2009 Assembly elections on the ticket of the Congress Party. Earlier to him, BV Mohan Reddy won four times from the segment in 1985, 1989, 1994 and 1999 Assembly Elections.
The TDP is eying on the constituency as it has good base and cadre at the field level. Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy also elected as an MLA from Yemmiganur in 1983 elections. Congress is facing tough task in the region as the YSRCP is gaining ground.
