The Employees Provident Fund Organisation, Government of India has launched the facility of checking EPF balance online on 01st July 2011. The PF Account holders across the country can check the balance in their accounts. The accounts are regularly updated and you will also find any transactions approved by concerned EPF Organisation (EPFO) such as account settlement, advances payment, transfer-in of accounts and transfer-out if any. Here is the brief procedure to check your EPF balance and claim status online through EPF website at http://www.epfindia.com/membbal.html . Account holders have to login to the EPF website of the respective state and submit the details to get the balance.
1) First, you should select the EPFO office where your account is maintained and must furnish your PF Account number without any mistake.
2) You can leave the extension field blank in case your account does not have one.
3) You should enter your name and mobile number. The mobile number you provided will be recorded along with the PF Account Number.
4) After the successful submission of all the above information, your PF account balance details will be sent through SMS to the given mobile number.
At present, EPF website has the data of 119 EPFO offices across the country in all the states. New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Noida, Bangalore, Chennai and some cities are sending more number of queries to check EPF balance. The websites have served about 3012181 requests for balance as on 07st January 2012.
