Profile of KCR of TRS Party – K Chandrasekhar Rao

Kalva Kuntla Chandrasekhar Rao, famous as KCR has emerged as strong force in the politics of Andhra Pradesh in the recent times. He is the President of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Party and presently representing Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha Constituency. Earlier he was elected from Karimnagar Constituency and also served as a Union Minister in cabinet of Dr. Manmohan Singh. Here is the bio-data and profile of KCR (K. Chandrasekhara Rao).

KCR’s parents are Raghavar Rao and Smt. Venkatamma. He was born on 17-02-1954 at Chintamadaka of Medak district in Andhra Pradesh. He was married to Smt. Kalvakuntla Shobha on 23 April 1969 and they have a son and a daughter. He studied M.A. (Litt) and educated at Osmania University, Hyderabad. His permanent address is at 8- 2 -220/ 110/ 1/ 3, Road No. 14, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

He was member of AP Legislative Assembly during 1985-2004. He was then a leader of the Telugu Desam Party who elected thrice to AP Assembly on the TDP ticket. He also served as Minister of State in Government of Andhra Pradesh during 1987-88 and also as a Cabinet Minister during 1997-99. He was appointed and served as Deputy Speaker of AP Assembly during 1999-2001. Dissatisfied with his prospects in TDP, KCR has left TDP and floated Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

He was first elected to Lok Sabha in 2004 and joined as Union Cabinet Minister for Labour and Employment in the ministry of Dr. Manmohan Singh. He resigned to Lok Sabha in 2006 and re-elected in the same year in by-polls. He again resigned to Lok Sabha seat in 2008 and re-elected on 1 June 2008. He chosen Mahaboobnagar Constituency in 2009 elections and re-elected to 15th Lok Sabha.
