Tellam Balaraju is an MLA of Polavaram Assembly Constituency in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Balaraju won from Pollavaram constituency for the second term. He was first elected as an MLA from Polavaram during 2004 and later in 2009 elections. West Godavari is one of the politically active district in Andhra Pradesh.
T Balaraju has been associated with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSR Congress Party. He has been accompanying with YS Jagan whenever the later goes to West Godavari. Balaraju was also appeared in various dharnas and protests organised by YSR Congress Party.
Balaraju’s constituency consists of large number of tribal population. Hence Polavaram constituency is reserved for ST category. Balaraju won 2009 elections on the seat of the Congress party. Polavaram has been in news for the ongoing tussle on Polavaram Project.
