Telangana State will have 31 districts as Chief Minister K. Chandra Sekhar has given nod for another 4 new districts along with the proposed 17 districts. The 4 new districts are Asifabad, Jangaon, Sircilla and Gadwal. Following are the total districts in Telangana:
1) Warangal: Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Bhupalapalli, Mahaboobabad, Jangaon.
2) Karimnagar: Karimnagar, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Sircilla.
3) Mahabubnagar: Mahaboobnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy and Gadwal.
4) Adilabad: Manchiryal, Nirmal, Asifabad, Adilabad.
5) Medak: Siddipet, Medak, Sangareddy.
6) Rangareddy: Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Malkajgiri.
7) Nalgonda: Yadadri, Suryapet, Nalgonda.
8) Nizamabad: Kamareddy and Nizamabad.
9) Khammam: Kothagudem and Khammam.
10) Hyderabad.
The Government has already issued draft notifications for 17 new districts. The CM has ordered the officials to take measures to carve out Jangaon, Sircilla, Gadwal and Asifabad districts.
The Telangana Government is firm on starting administration in new districts from Dussehra, 11th October 2016. Final notifications will be issued soon by the revenue department.
