In one of the finest initiatives of the recent times, the Government of Maharashtra has introduced online process for the issue of Aadhaar Cards (Unique Identification Number) in Mumbai and Pune cities. This will be a great respite for the people of both the cities as there have been complaints of huge queues and also allegations of bribe from some agents for the issue of UID Cards. Once put into practice, citizens of Mumbai metro and Pune would be able to register for Aadhaar (Unique ID) Card through an official Government website. They can also fix appointments at the nearest UID issue center for biometric registration and other procedures. You also need to submit relevant documents to finish the enrollment process. You need to walk in to your nearest enrollment center. Details of enrollment centers are mentioned below.
The IT department, which is handling the UID project has also decided to home deliver Aadhaar application forms in order to facilitate hassle free and easy registration. The official sources informed that the UID project is likely to be continued for 9-10 more months and requested people not to fall prey to bribing practices. The UID project was launched in Mumbai in January but managed to get response in the last two months only. The authorities have so far issued 13.54 lakh cards out of total enrollment of 81.84 lakh. The state of Maharashtra is in third positions in issuing Aadhaar Cards, after Andhra Pradesh (28.87 lakh) and Karnataka (13.51 lakh) which occupied first and second places respectively.
The Govt. of India has set the deadline to complete the UID registration process till March 2012. At present there are 3733 Adhaar Registration stations in Maharashtra covering most of the tehsils and districts. These centers can do 20 enrollments a day per each centre. The Government is likely to increase the online registration centers to speed up the process. It is surprising to see that backward districts such as Amravati, Wardha and Miraj and Jalgaon are leading in the number of registrations. Morethan 20 percent of the total population have registered in these districts. Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai reported 8, 6 and 10 percent registrations respectively.
People can download Aadhaar Enrollment form from http://aadhaar.maharashtra.gov.in/AADHAAR/New%20Folder/Aadhar.html . You need to submit the form in person along with your family members. You can find Aadhaar enrollment centers through http://gms.maharashtra.gov.in/uidmms/FrmFindEnrollmentCentre.aspx . You need to enter your district, taluka and village/ city / town to find enrollment centers in that region.

First of all Living Certificate is not require for Aadhar card application. you can give your another documents for the same. Like Pan card, Driving License, Voter ID..or Authorized ID Proof of College. And second thing…!!
If you have already Applied for Aadhar Card. then you had got your acknowledgment slip of Aadhar Card. if you didn’t get it Apply again with full documents and forms. you will get your reciept

I totally agree with you Sir. Why can’t the govt. provide a simple process, make a robust site to apply online, instantly schedule/fix appointment time as per our convenience for Bio-metric tests; and issue the card instantly. Any errors on the cards can be rectified after verifying by the card-holder instantaneously.
This is a very common sense and seems logical, which the govt. has really failed to understand. I DON’T WANT A SILICON VALLEY, when the IT is not applied in our Nation-wide Enrollment Programme. Whats the use of calling ourselves the largest democratic country, when there is no proper infrastructure, no sewage lines, etc. Even today in the “Capital”, people do it on the roadside.

Who will pay them salaries..and that too Sixth pay commission…. My dear friend… It is ur sin..to be brought up in a middle class family….becoz… all schemes are either enjoyed by High class..or Low class…for example…we have a Scheme called NERGA…which has a budget of nr..1 Lac Crores…It is nothing but a will towaste money on stupid programs…where expect for some…there are no benifits…. So hence like that scheme…UID….is nothing but a money spining activity….so Chill…sit back and enjoy the pain….for been the Citizen….

you’ll need to go your nearest aadhar card camp. where you can apply for aadhar card. You’ll need a Aadhar card Application form which you will get from the same location where aadhar card is being processed. you’ll need an “Application Form, Your ID Proof (Pan card, driving License, or anything else which is authorized) and Address proof (Light bill on which your parents name is mentioned, Court recognized Affidavit Paper(Rental basis), water bill receipt, property tax receipt). [ALL THE DOCUMENTS SHOULD ORIGINAL] Zerox copy will not be acceptable.

No there is no chance to feel online form properly… I think you should Apply for your Aadhar card at your nearest place where Aadhar card camp is arranged. Just try to get information about location and address of that camp. and apply directly via camp. Because there is a different procedure of Aadhar card. you’ll need your eyeris print, finger prints. and I think you can’t give your these information in online form. so, it will be better that you should go that place and apply directly.

I could not notice any details or advertisement in News Papers in Mumbai regarding AADHAR card. It appears that Govt. systems do not wish to change according to time. Govt. could have been pro-active in collecting the data like PAN, Driving License, Electrol No etc. on-line and verified. They should be asking only those where no details are available. Thus Aadhar or any such documenst could easily and conviniently be issued using modern and technologicaly advance methods. But in INDIA, Govt. systems work in their own age old style. They have expertism in punishing the innocent citezens who quitely bear all such pains… How long?

i had applied for UD I No on 22.4.2011 nearly 8 months are over. no response whatsoever till date from the concerned authorities. sir i live at sakinaka but i can not find addharcard centre where i can register my number .All centres are in closed positon so what can i do ?
I reside at Dahisar (West) near Vithal Mandir. My husband, my son and myself had gone for Aadhar forms to the Municipal School near Vithal Mandir but we were told that here it is only for children and that we have to go near Jain Mandir. We went to Jain Mandir to submit duly filled printed forms with us. But they did not accept the forms. We were told that we have to take only the forms issued by them which are light green in colour. We had to stand in long queue. After standing in long queue, hardly 10-15 people were given forms, we could not get forms and were told to come the next day. They issue only few forms at a time and the samre are to be filled on the same day. This is very time consuming. My son goes to college and has holiday only on Sundays. We wasted nearly two hours in the queue and were told the forms are over. What is the last date for aadhar forms or is there any other alternative?

There is a lot of confusion about how to get an appointment for the registration centre. I have visited SV Rd Bandra-W centre and turned down twice. First time the staff asked me to just come the next day. second time I have been asked to take appointment through the net. But I can not find an address on the net to take an appointment. I am an LPG Cylinder holder and as per the advertisement in TIO all enrollment centers have been informed to give priority to LPG gas cylinder holders in Aadhaar Enrolment Process till 15 March 2013.
