Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India has launched new Aadhaar Toll-Free Helpline No. 1947 for various services to the people. The 1947 will bring convenience to Aadhaar holders, provide solutions anytime, anywhere.
The Aadhaar has been widely used in the country in transactions related to services like Banking, Government Welfare Schemes, etc. With this, several issues have been arised and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a revamped version of its Toll-free helpline number 1947, to help the people get quick access to information about their Aadhaar number.
The helpline number 1947 will be available 24×7 at free of cost in IVRS mode. The Aadhaar Call Centre agents will be available from 7 am to 11 pm (Monday to Saturday). On Sundays and Holidays, agents will answer calls from 8 am to 5 pm. It is estimated that the helpline number handles about 1.5 lakh calls per day.
The toll free number will be beneficial to the people which can be accessed through mobile or landline. The helpline center also give information to locate an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre, know generation status of an Aadhaar number (after enrolment) and help retrieve Aadhaar details of any person who has lost his / her Aadhaar or hasn’t received it through post.
